The UAE government has started a new program called the “Work Bundle” to make it easier for private sector employees to get work permits and residency.

The “Work Bundle” is part of the “Zero Bureaucracy” program, which aims to simplify government procedures and remove unnecessary steps. This will make things more efficient and flexible in the UAE, helping to reduce bureaucracy.

One Platform for All Services

The “Work Bundle” helps private sector companies by providing a single platform for all employment services. This includes renewing and canceling work permits, medical exams, and fingerprinting.

This program was created through teamwork between federal and local government agencies. It allows clients to complete their transactions quickly through digital platforms.

The key agencies involved are:

  • Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation
  • Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security
  • General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai
  • Dubai Health
  • Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism

Digital Dubai supports this project by providing the digital infrastructure for smooth data exchange between these entities.

Digital Transformation

The “Work Bundle” is a big step in the UAE’s digital transformation. It helps the UAE compete globally by making it easier to set up and manage businesses.

The “Work Bundle” improves the customer experience by providing one platform instead of five. It reduces the procedures from eight services to one unified platform. The required steps are reduced from 15 steps and 16 documents to just five steps and five documents. The number of visits needed is cut from seven to two, and the time to complete a transaction is reduced from 30 working days to just five.

This project aims to save time and effort, cutting 25 million procedures, 12.5 million visits, and 62.5 million working days each year.

The “Work Bundle” will first be available on the “Invest in Dubai” platform and will later be available on other government digital platforms.
