Burj Khalifa or Burj Dubai

The Burj Khalifa was originally known as the Burj Dubai before its opening in 2010, but at some point during the construction of this engineering masterpiece, the developers, Emaar Properties, ran into some financial issues that it took the intervention / financial support of Sheikh Khalifa, the ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates, to resolve. This resulted in the name change from Burj Dubai to Burj Khalifa.
